COR Milestones
Established in 1994, COR is an outgrowth of The Worcester Deep Vein Thrombosis Study, which was funded by the National Institutes of Health from 1986-1991.
1994
- The Hip Registry is established through a grant from Rhône-Poulenc Rorer, Inc.
1995
- Total knee replacement added to create the Hip & Knee Registry (THKR)
- THKR enrolls 500 surgeons
1996
- The ALS Patient Care Database is established.
- THKR enrolls 5,000 patients
1997
- The Glioma Outcomes (GO) Project is established
- THKR enrolls 10,000 patients and 1,000 surgeons
- ALS enrolls 90 clinics and 1,000 patients
1999
- The GRACE program is established
- THKR enrolls 20,000 patients
- ALS enrolls 3,000 patients
2000
- COR is certified as a performance measurement system by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations
- THKR enrolls 30,000 patients
- GO enrolls 788 patients at 52 sites
- GRACE enrolls 10,000 patients
2001
- GLORY - The Global Orthopaedic Registry is launched
- ALS enrolls 4,000 patients
- GRACE enrolls 20,000 patients
2002
- IMPROVE - International Medical Prevention Registry on Venous Thromboembolism is launched
- GRACE enrolls 40,000 patients from 17 countries
2003
- GLORY enrolls 3,000 THA and 4,000 TKA cases from 11 countries
- IMPROVE enrolls 1,500 patients from 10 countries
- ALS enrolls over 5,000 patients from more than 100 sites
