GRACE: Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events
Introduction

Grace—What Is It?

Grace—the Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events—is a prospective, multinational, observational registry that is collecting data on acute coronary event patients.

Across 14 countries, 50,000 patients will be recruited—ten thousand patients per year for five years. GRACE will be the first global, population based, multicentre data collection registry.

Centres included in the registry have been chosen based on a careful evaluation of local demographics and care facilities. This population based approach should ensure a representative sample of patients in each country.

Unlike clinical studies involving specific medications, treatment decisions for patients included in the GRACE registry will be at the discretion of the patient's physician. As a result, data collected in the registry will reflect a 'real-life' approach to the diagnosis and treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) patients.

One of the unique features of GRACE is that participants will be given feedback via quarterly reports. These reports will allow hospitals, and physicians, to make meaningful comparisons of how their treatment compares on a national or international stage.
