Risk Assessment Models - IMPROVE (Bleeding)
The IMPROVE VTE Risk Calculator is a clinical decision tool used for risk assessment and prophylaxis. The tool was developed by the Center for Outcomes Research (COR) as part of the IMPROVE registry. It implements algorithms from the IMPROVE registry to improve outcomes from venous thromboembolism (VTE) or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This risk assessment tool provides a score after decisions from a pulmonary embolism (PE) that might lead to deep vein thrombosis (DVT). In December 2013, the IMPROVE bleeding risk score was selected by the Quality and Patient Safety Division (QPSD) of Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine as the screening tool to improve clinical venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis after a pulmonary embolism (PE).
