GRACE: Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events
Methodology

Project Management

Dr Fred Anderson, Director of the Centre for Outcomes Research, which is based at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts, is responsible for the proper scientific and ethical conduct of the study, including assurance that appropriate measures for the protection of the participants, including hospitals, physicians and patients, are instituted and followed. The Centre for Outcomes Research serves as the International Study Coordinating Centre for GRACE. GRACE is governed by a scientific advisory committee, which includes 18 cardiologists and two cardiovascular epidemiologists.

GRACE is supported through an educational grant from Aventis Pharma (formerly known as Rhône-Poulenc Rorer). Aventis Pharma has access to aggregate reports only, not to individual patient, physician, or hospital data. The sponsor has a list of participating physicians, but is unable to link physicians with their outcomes.
